General Information
The control unit, with an indication of the alarm point, is a two-zone module designed to monitor up to two lines of digital EN digital AlarmLine II thermosensitive cable suitable for linear heat detection. If a situation of overheating or fire affects an area of the thermosensitive cable, the unit is able to report the alarm condition and display the distance of the alarm point along the cable, in feet and meters. The two zones can operate independently of each other or in interlock mode (double consent). A separate alarm and fault output is provided for each zone. The unit is designed to be installed as an interface between the EN digital AlarmLine II thermosensitive cable (linear heat detector) and a conventional or directed fire detection unit. It has indicators for signaling the presence of power supply, fault condition and alarm corresponding to each zone. The unit can also be connected to an industrial process control system using the two-wire RS-485 Modbus RTU output

Operating modes
1. Independent - in this mode, the control unit is used as a two-zone system. When a fault or overheating condition occurs on an area of LHD digital thermosensitive cable, the corresponding alarm output is activated respectively. The two zones work independently and both zone outlets must be connected to a central fire alarm

2. Interlock - this mode is provided for applications where a safety guarantee is required where the alarm condition is activated only when a confirmed overheating condition is detected. This mode may also be known as dual consent. In this case, the same digital LHD thermosensitive cable, with the same operating temperature, is connected to both areas of the unit and protects the same area. The alarm output will only be activated when both lines of LHD digital thermosensitive cable are active due to an overheating condition. If one zone input is alarmed but the second one is not, the alarm output will not be activated.

Modbus communication
The control unit includes a two-wire Modbus RS-485 output that can be enabled to indicate the status of each zone, Modbus RTU/ASCII.

Interconnection cables
The control unit allows the use of an interconnection cable (not sensitive to temperature) between the control module and the digital thermosensitive cable for linear heat detection. The interconnect cable is used in applications where the control unit is not in the area protected by the sensor cable. The interconnect cable is available in lengths of 100 m, product code AAI-0100
