GSM-X offers extensive communication capabilities with support for multiple communication channels. The device can be used for surveillance functions for alarm systems. It can, therefore, interface with an alarm system via dialer or through appropriately configured outputs.

An important feature offered by the module is the possibility of expanding the functionality offered with the addition of the GSM-X-ETH Ethernet module, which allows the implementation of surveillance functions on two independent channels (Ethernet and GPRS). Given that it is possible to constantly monitor the status of the connections by the monitoring station and that the transmission paths are equal, the specifications of the so-called Dual Path Reporting are respected in compliance with the stringent limits of the EN50136 cat. standard. DP4.

GSM-X offers a notification service for up to 8 users in various ways: using voice messages, SMS, PUSH or via the CLIP service.

As regards the INTEGRA and INTEGRA Plus control panels, an additional connection via RS-232 is available. With the help of this connection, GSM-X will allow the transmission of events to the surveillance, the sending of notifications (the content of which, for INTEGRA Plus, is derived from the event memory) and will allow remote connection with the DLOADX and GUARDX programs .

The module has a function of automatic switching of communication on the GSM channel in case of failure of the analogue telephone line. GSM-X can also act as a GSM gateway for switchboards (PBXs).

The device has 4 programmable outputs that can be controlled remotely using SMS, CLIP, DTMF, the GX CONTROL mobile application or the GX Soft configuration software, which allows you to use GSM-X for remote control of an alarm system or of other connected devices.

GSM-X can be programmed and configured from a PC using the GX Soft software. The computer can connect to the module locally, by connecting to the mini-USB port of the module, or remotely, by connecting to the device via GPRS or Ethernet.

Remote updating of the device firmware is possible thanks to the compatibility of GSM-X with the UpServ program.

The built-in GSM phone has two SIM card slots. If problems occur with the operator's network coverage of the first SIM, the module will automatically switch to the other to maintain communication continuity.
