High-performance detection algorithms to prevent false alarms

Video analysis alone can often struggle to distinguish real intrusions from false alarms when environmental factors intervene. Shadows, small animals, heavy rain or snow, cobwebs, fallen leaves and many other everyday events can pose a problem for cameras. However, in combination with our advanced detection algorithms such as OPTEX-specific SMDA and AND intelligent logic, false alarms have been significantly reduced. SMDA logic provides our detectors with the intelligence to learn and adapt to their environment by analyzing, during the validation of a real alarm, five fundamental analysis parameters: shape, size, speed, temperature and direction. AND logic is particularly effective in reducing false alarms often caused by birds and pets, since it requires the activation of both the upper and lower detection areas to generate an alarm signal.

Reliable alarm logic

Another way that InSight INS-HX-80N reduces false alarms and increases reliability is through its alarm logic. This logic works by creating a time window in which the sensor or camera detects an object. At that time, the detection must be confirmed by both video analysis and sensor analysis for an alarm to be generated. Essentially, InSight provides two levels of detection to truly ensure that any alarm generated is real, giving you peace of mind that you can trust the sensor and take appropriate action
