Description

Manual air sampling network cleaning kit. consisting of a two-way ball valve and quick connection for compressed air. The kit allows you to dissect (close) the incoming suction pipe on the smoke aspiration detector, allowing compressed air to be blown into the suction line to clean the pipes/sample holes. The sampling network must be equipped at the end of the line with an exhaust valve cod. 9-10978 that will open in case of excessive

pressure.

General information
When the aspiration smoke detector is installed in a dusty environment, the sample tubes and sample holes may clog with particles suspended in the air and not be functional for a period of time. Consequently, it is recommended to clean the tubes and holes by blowing compressed air at low pressure in the reverse direction from the sampling. Connecting compressed air to the sample tube and releasing excess air can be difficult.
With the introduction of the quick-release air valve (9-30976), the large ¾” check valve (9-10978) and the ¾” 2-way ball valve (9-10980), this is no longer necessary. The quick-release air valve is installed next to the aspirated smoke detector. During maintenance, the detector can be turned off and the valve closed to prevent damage to the detector during the cleaning process. The compressed air at low pressure is then easily connected to the quick release. A ¾” check valve or a ¾” 2-way ball valve can be used at the end of the sample tube. The check valve is easier to use, as it will open automatically to release excess pressure during the cleaning process and does not require any procedures. In some cases the check valve may not be suitable, so the 2-way ball valve can be used to manually open the farthest end of the sample tube

.

Use
Compressed air should never be present without first closing the valve to protect the ASD detector. Do not use excessive pressure to blow clean the suction pipes, the pressure will naturally be lost through the holes in the system or having installed the check valve/vent valve (9-10978) at the end of the pipe that will release excess air pressure. Only a small amount of pressure is needed to blow the dust away.

It is recommended to use the 9-10976 valve in combination with the 9-10978 check valve.
