THERMOSTICK SAFEYE900-QT SafEye Quasar 900

The new SafEye Quasar 900 is an open-path detection system that provides continuous monitoring of combustible hydrocarbon gases. It employs the analysis of the 'fingerprints' of the atmosphere using the differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS) technique. The Quasar 900 consists of a Xenon Flash infrared transmitter and an infrared receiver, separated on a line of sight from 7 m (23 ft) up to 200 m (660 ft) in extremely difficult environments where dust, fog, rain, snow or vibration can cause a high signal reduction. The Quasar 900 transmitter and receiver are both housed in a robust stainless steel enclosure, approved by ATEX and IECEx. The main enclosure is EExD explosion-proof with an integral, segregated, increased security EExe terminal section. The portable communication unit can be connected in place via the approved intrinsically safe data port for prognostic and diagnostic maintenance. The Quasar 900 is FM/FMC approved for Class I Div 1 Group B, C and D and Class I, II Div 1 Group E, F and G and ATEX/IECEx for Ex d and ib [ib Gb] IIB + H2 T4 Gb, Ex tb IIIC T135°C Db. The Quasar 900 includes heated windows to eliminate condensation and ice, HART functionality for digital communication and is designed to meet SIL2 according to IEC61508 and FM performance approved according to FM6325 and tested according to EN60079-29-4.
