When installing an aspiration smoke detection (ASD) system, it is often almost impossible to identify the exact location of the sampling point and, most importantly, to identify if the sample hole is the correct size, creating unnecessary delays. The VESDA sample hole clip offers reliable and precise sample hole sizes, quick to install and easy to locate and identify. Each clip is color coded to indicate a specific hole diameter, providing instant visual guidance and eliminating the need for closer inspection. This is particularly beneficial during commissioning and maintenance processes in applications such as warehouses or large open spaces. The greatly simplified installation process helps ensure greater reliability in correctly setting the sample hole size and a faster installation process. A 10 mm (27/64”) diameter drill bit is all an installer needs to create each sample hole (instead of different drill sizes) to which the sample hole clip attaches. This can help ensure a quality installation in projects where the installation is subcontracted or the installer is not familiar with the impact of the sample hole size. The use of a beveled inlet hole in the sample hole clip design can help reduce the effects of dust load. Without the use of this type of technology, dust is likely to accumulate around a standard drilled sample hole, due to the friction created by airflow through the sample hole. By reducing the effects of dust load and taking advantage of the additional protection provided by pipe clamps, sites can help increase system uptime and potentially extend maintenance and test intervals. Unlike most contemporary solutions, the hose clamp is ready for installation (with no need for additional assembly, parts or tools); the clips are supplied as a single piece ready for assembly. The hose clips are also available in two formats; Standard and Hard Environment. The clip variants for harsh environments have a flexible lip design that changes shape when subjected to compressed air. This helps to easily detach and break any ice, fiber or dust buildup on the rubber support structure thanks to the jet of air escaping from the clip hole, providing additional protection in difficult places such as freezing applications.
