The 5496 model is a smart power module designed to provide power to the notification circuits of fire alarm and security systems. This module is the most effective and cost-effective solution for powering the notification devices required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

6-amp power supply for notification circuits.
AC power connection, battery charging circuit and backup battery.
Switch-mode power supply design, which reduces harmful heat and manages power up to 50% more efficiently than linear mode systems.
Filtered 24 VDC output voltage.
Four limited power outputs: 2 Class A (Z Style) or 4 Class B (Y Style), or 1 Class A and 2 Class B.
Current for each output circuit: 3 amps (6 amps total).
Ground fault detection.
Communication with the FACP control panel via 4-wire bus (cable length up to 6000 feet).
AC power interrupt delay option to turn off power to non-essential high-current accessories such as magnetic door seals.

Configuration and Use

The output circuits can be programmed as device notification circuits or as auxiliary power (configurable for constant power, resettable or for door seals).

Configurable notification outputs: 20.4 - 27.3 VDC at 3 amps each.
End of line resistance: 4.7 kΩ required for each Class B circuit.
Battery charging capacity: 7.0 - 35.0 AH.
